Karakoram Highway: Islamabad → Khunjerab Pass
Region
The Karakoram Highway (KKH) is widely regarded as one of the world's great motorcycle roads — 1,300km of tarmac and rough mountain road carved through some of the most dramatic scenery on Earth, passing through four mountain ranges (Himalaya, Karakoram, Hindu Kush, Pamir) and reaching 4,693m at the Chinese border. Built jointly by China and Pakistan over 20 years at enormous human cost, the KKH follows the ancient Silk Road through gorges of the Indus, past the granite walls of the Karakoram, and up through Hunza to the Chinese border at Khunjerab Pass. This guided motorcycle tour uses well-maintained 250cc–400cc bikes (bikes provided, or use your own), an experienced guide on lead bike, and a support vehicle with accommodation and luggage. You focus entirely on the riding and the scenery; we handle everything else.

Yes — if you are riding your own bike to/from Pakistan or importing it temporarily, we will adjust the price (no bike rental cost) and our support vehicle will still accompany you. Importing a motorcycle into Pakistan requires a carnet de passage.
What standard are the provided bikes?
We use 250cc–400cc single-cylinder trail bikes suitable for the mix of tarmac and rough mountain road. They are well-maintained by our mechanic who travels in the support vehicle. More powerful bikes can be arranged at a supplement.
