Terms & Conditions

1. The Contract

By submitting a booking form or paying a deposit to Wonderland Treks & Tours ("Company", "we", "us"), you ("Client") confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions. These terms constitute a binding agreement between you and Wonderland Treks & Tours, registered in Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistan.

2. Booking & Payment

  • A 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your booking.
  • The remaining 70% balance is due 30 days before your departure date.
  • Bookings made within 30 days of departure require full payment at time of booking.
  • Accepted payment methods: EasyPaisa, JazzCash, bank transfer (PKR/USD), Visa/Mastercard (via secure payment link).
  • All prices are in Pakistani Rupees (PKR) unless otherwise stated. USD, EUR, and GBP equivalents are indicative and subject to exchange rate variation.

3. Cancellation Policy

See our full Cancellation Policy for complete terms. In summary:

  • More than 60 days before departure: Loss of deposit (30%) only
  • 30–60 days before departure: 50% of total trip cost
  • 15–29 days before departure: 75% of total trip cost
  • Less than 15 days / no show: 100% of total trip cost

4. Changes by the Client

We will try to accommodate changes to your booking where possible. A PKR 15,000 administration fee applies to each change request. Changes are subject to availability and may incur additional costs (e.g. different accommodation, permit fees).

5. Changes or Cancellation by the Company

We reserve the right to modify or cancel a trip due to:

  • Insufficient participant numbers (minimum group sizes apply)
  • Force majeure: natural disasters, political unrest, government restrictions, extreme weather
  • Safety concerns deemed serious by our lead guide or management

In such cases we will offer: (a) an alternative trip of equal value, or (b) a full refund of monies paid excluding non-recoverable third-party costs (permits, flights, hotels already paid).

6. Health, Fitness & Medical Conditions

  • You confirm you are in good physical health and fit for the activity level of your chosen package.
  • You must disclose any medical conditions, allergies, or medications at time of booking.
  • For expeditions above 6,000m, a medical fitness certificate from a licensed physician may be required.
  • We reserve the right to exclude any participant deemed medically unfit for a trek or expedition.

7. Travel Insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory for all clients. Your policy must cover:

  • Emergency medical treatment and hospitalisation
  • Helicopter evacuation (minimum $100,000 USD coverage recommended)
  • Trip cancellation and curtailment
  • For expeditions above 5,000m: high-altitude evacuation (e.g. Global Rescue membership)

We may request proof of insurance prior to departure. We recommend World Nomads Explorer plan or Global Rescue membership for all expedition clients.

8. Risk Acknowledgement

Trekking and mountaineering in Pakistan's Karakoram, Himalaya, and Hindu Kush ranges involves inherent risks including but not limited to: altitude sickness, extreme weather, avalanches, crevasses, rock falls, and difficult terrain. You acknowledge these risks and accept responsibility for your own participation decisions.

9. Our Responsibilities

We are responsible for providing:

  • Certified, experienced guides and high-altitude porters
  • All stated accommodation, meals, and transport as per your itinerary
  • Applicable trekking and expedition permits
  • First aid equipment and emergency communication devices

We are not responsible for: personal injury or illness beyond our negligence; loss or damage to personal property; delays caused by weather, government restrictions, or force majeure; additional costs arising from early return due to personal illness.

10. Conduct

All clients are expected to respect local customs, fellow travellers, porters, and guides. We reserve the right to remove from a trip any client whose behaviour is deemed dangerous, disrespectful, or disruptive, without refund.

11. Permits & Regulations

Certain areas of Pakistan require special permits (CKNP permit, expedition permit, photography permit, etc.). We will obtain all permits included in your package on your behalf. You are responsible for obtaining your Pakistan visa independently.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistan.
