Cancellation & Refund Policy

Our Commitment

We understand that plans change. Our policy is designed to be transparent and fair. We clearly state all fees upfront β€” there are no hidden charges.

Client Cancellations

If you need to cancel your trip, please notify us in writing as soon as possible at info@wonderland-tours.com. Cancellation fees are calculated based on the number of days before your confirmed departure date:

The 30% deposit is non-refundable in all cases as it covers permit application costs, guide retainers, and administrative expenses that are incurred at time of booking.

Force Majeure Cancellations

If you must cancel due to circumstances genuinely beyond your control (natural disaster in Pakistan, medical emergency with doctor's certificate, government travel ban), we will:

  • Waive cancellation fees where the Pakistan government has issued a travel advisory for the specific area
  • Offer a free date change valid for 24 months from original booking
  • Refund any recoverable costs (permits not yet submitted, hotels not yet paid)
  • Non-recoverable costs (permits already submitted, advance-booked accommodation) cannot be refunded

Date Changes

If you wish to change your departure date rather than cancel:

  • More than 60 days before departure: Free date change (once only, subject to availability)
  • 30–60 days before departure: PKR 15,000 administration fee + any price difference
  • Less than 30 days: Treated as a cancellation and re-booking

Cancellations by Wonderland Treks & Tours

We reserve the right to cancel a trip in the following circumstances:

  • Minimum group size not reached: Some packages require a minimum of 2 participants. If this cannot be met, we will either offer to combine your group with another departure or provide a full refund.
  • Safety concerns: If our lead guide or management determines that conditions (weather, political, medical) make the trip unsafe, we will cancel and offer a full refund or free date transfer.
  • Force majeure: Natural disasters, floods, government restrictions, or events beyond our control. In this case we refund all recoverable costs.

Expedition-Specific Policy

For mountaineering expeditions (K2, Nanga Parbat, Gasherbrum, Broad Peak, Spantik, Rakaposhi):

  • Expedition permits are submitted 3–6 months in advance and are non-refundable once submitted to the Ministry of Tourism Pakistan
  • Base camp equipment and high-altitude porter contracts are non-refundable once signed
  • Cancellation of an expedition within 90 days of the expedition start date incurs 100% loss of all permit and logistics costs
  • We strongly recommend Global Rescue membership and comprehensive expedition travel insurance

Refund Processing

Approved refunds are processed within 14 business days via the original payment method:

  • Bank transfer: PKR account within Pakistan β€” 3–5 business days
  • International bank transfer β€” 7–14 business days (transfer fees deducted)
  • EasyPaisa / JazzCash β€” 3–5 business days

Travel Insurance Reminder

We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance that includes trip cancellation cover. This protects you from cancellation fees in most unforeseen circumstances. We recommend World Nomads for international travellers.

How to Cancel

To cancel or change a booking, email us at info@wonderland-tours.com with your booking reference number. We will acknowledge your request within 24 hours and confirm the applicable fees.
