Overview
Fairy Meadows is one of Pakistan's most beloved and accessible high-altitude destinations. This lush alpine meadow at 3,300m offers some of the most photogenic views of any 8,000m peak in the world — Nanga Parbat's enormous Raikot Face (north face) towers over 4,800m directly above the green meadow. After the thrilling jeep ride up one of the world's most vertiginous dirt roads to Tato Village, a gentle 2–3 hour forest walk brings you to the meadow. From here, a rewarding day hike leads through birch forests and alpine terrain to Nanga Parbat Base Camp (Raikot Face, 3,967m) — a manageable but memorable high-altitude experience accessible to most trekkers.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Fairy Meadows suitable for beginners?
Yes! The walk from Tato to Fairy Meadows is 2.5–3 hours on a forest path suitable for most moderately fit adults. The trek to base camp (Day 3) is longer but still accessible. No technical skills required.
When are the best views?
Sunrise is the absolute highlight — Nanga Parbat lights up dramatically in orange and gold. September–October also offers crystal-clear skies after the monsoon. Spring (April–May) has wildflowers in bloom.
Is Fairy Meadows a tour or a trek?
Technically a trek — there's no road to Fairy Meadows itself, so some walking is unavoidable. But it's often searched as a "tour" since the walking involved (a 2.5–3 hour forest path from Tato village) is gentle compared to a true high-altitude trek, making it accessible to most fitness levels.
How do you get to Fairy Meadows?
Drive to Raikot Bridge on the Karakoram Highway (between Chilas and Gilgit), then take a jeep up the steep dirt track to Tato village, followed by a 2.5–3 hour forest walk to the meadow itself. Our package includes the jeep transport and a guide for the full route.
How much does the Fairy Meadows trek cost?
Our 5-day Fairy Meadows & Nanga Parbat Base Camp trek starts from PKR 75,000 (approx. $268) per person, including the jeep transport from Raikot Bridge, camping at Fairy Meadows, a licensed guide, cook and all meals, and a porter for group equipment.
