Expedition Overview

Rakaposhi (7,788m) is one of the most visually stunning mountains in the entire Karakoram — its enormous southwest face rising nearly 6,000m from the Hunza River floor to the summit, creating one of the world's greatest vertical reliefs. The standard SW Ridge / Monk's Head route is technical and demanding, requiring sustained high-altitude climbing above 6,000m. Base camp is approached from Minapin village in the Nagar Valley — the same starting point as the trekking trip to Rakaposhi base camp. This expedition is suitable for experienced high-altitude climbers seeking a technically challenging but rewarding objective.
