This is the grand tour of northern Pakistan — 14 days that covers every major destination along and beyond the legendary Karakoram Highway. Beginning in Islamabad, you drive north through the Indus Gorge, ascend through Kohistan to Chilas, detour to Fairy Meadows and Nanga Parbat, continue through Gilgit, explore Hunza Valley's forts and lakes, cross to Khunjerab Pass at the Chinese border, then fly to Skardu for the second half of the adventure — Deosai, Shangrila, Shigar Valley, and the high peaks of Baltistan. This is the trip of a lifetime.

Islamabad → Taxila → Besham

Drive north on KKH. Stop at Taxila (UNESCO WHS) — a 30-min visit to Dharmarajika Stupa and the museum. Continue through the dramatic Indus Gorge to Besham.

Besham → Chilas → Raikot Bridge → Fairy Meadows

Drive through Kohistan gorges. Arrive Raikot Bridge. Thrilling jeep ride to Tato Village. Walk to Fairy Meadows (3,300m). Evening campfire with Nanga Parbat views.

Yes — we offer the Hunza Valley Tour (7 days) and Skardu Heritage Tour (7 days) as separate packages, or the two can be combined into this Grand Tour.

Is this suitable for older travellers?

Yes. All transport is comfortable private vehicle, accommodation is good quality hotels, and there is no strenuous physical activity required. The only optional physical section is Fairy Meadows (moderate walk).
