Expedition Overview
Diran Peak (7,257m) in the Nagar District of Hunza is widely considered one of the best introductory 7,000m expedition peaks in Pakistan. It offers a relatively straightforward approach from the beautiful Minapin Valley, a non-technical standard route (for alpinism standards), and extraordinary views that include the west face of Rakaposhi (7,788m) and the full Karakoram panorama. Unlike the ultra-committing Karakoram 8,000m peaks, Diran is achievable for experienced high-altitude climbers stepping up from 6,000m peaks.
