The approach along the Baltoro Glacier — 62km of ice, granite, and altitude — passes the Trango Towers, Cathedral Spires, and the full parade of Karakoram giants before reaching Concordia's overwhelming amphitheatre. From Concordia, you press on to K2 Base Camp at 5,150m — where the world's finest mountaineers gather every summer. **Difficulty:** Strenuous — but non-technical. No ropes, no crampons, no technical skills required. The crossing of the 5,585m pass at dawn involves 50-degree snow slopes on fixed ropes, crampons, ice axes, and a 3am start by headlamp. From the summit, six 8,000m peaks are visible simultaneously. No photograph does it justice. No other trekking pass in the world offers this view. **Difficulty:** Very Strenuous + technical. Crampons and ice axes are mandatory. Fixed rope experience is essential.
