The Passu Cones are arguably Pakistan's most recognisable mountain silhouette — a jagged row of razor-sharp granite spires rising directly above the Karakoram Highway near the village of Passu in upper Hunza. This short but spectacular trek takes you beneath these extraordinary towers and along the snout of the Batura Glacier — the world's 5th longest glacier outside the polar regions. The combination of the needle-sharp Cones, the vast icefall of Batura, and the turquoise Hunza River below creates one of the most dramatic landscapes in all of Asia. This is an ideal add-on to any Hunza Valley visit.

Drive 1.5hrs from Karimabad to Passu. Trek beneath the Cones on the famous Borith Lake trail with extraordinary close-up views of the spires. Cross the legendary Hussaini bridge (not for the faint-hearted!). Overnight in Passu guesthouse.

Morning walk to the Batura Glacier snout — massive ice formations and roaring meltwater streams. Return to Passu and drive back to Hunza. Optional stop at Attabad Lake on the return.
