Sindh Province
Region
Sindh Province holds some of the most extraordinary historical sites in the world, yet remains profoundly undervisited. Mohenjo-daro β a UNESCO World Heritage Site β was one of the largest cities of the ancient Indus Valley Civilization (c. 2500 BCE), contemporaneous with ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia. Its Great Bath, multi-storey houses, and sophisticated drainage system speak of a civilization centuries ahead of its time. Nearby, the Makli Necropolis outside Thatta contains over 500,000 tombs β the largest necropolis on Earth β spread across a barren plateau in the most haunting landscape imaginable. Thatta's Shah Jahan Mosque (1647) dazzles with 100 domes and the finest blue-tile mosaic work in all of Asia. Karachi, Pakistan's coastal megacity, rounds out the tour with its colonial Raj-era buildings, vibrant markets, and Pakistan's best seafood. Winter (NovemberβFebruary) is the only comfortable season to visit Sindh β temperatures are perfect at 18β28Β°C while the rest of the world is cold.

Why visit Sindh in winter specifically?
Sindh is very hot from March to October β temperatures regularly reach 45β50Β°C in summer, making outdoor sightseeing almost impossible. November to February is the only comfortable time, with pleasant 18β28Β°C days and cool nights. Winter is also ideal for Mohenjo-daro as the site requires significant walking on exposed ground.
How remote is Mohenjo-daro β is it accessible?
Mohenjo-daro is accessible by a short domestic flight to Sukkur from Karachi, followed by a 90-minute drive. There is a government guesthouse on site. The site itself requires 3β4 hours of walking to cover properly. We handle all logistics, including the domestic flight and guesthouse booking.
Is Sindh safe for international tourists?
The tourist sites covered in this itinerary β Karachi, Thatta, Hyderabad, and Mohenjo-daro β are all well-established tourist destinations considered safe for foreign visitors. Our licensed guide and private vehicle provide additional security. We monitor conditions and adjust itineraries as needed.
