The Alpine Club of Pakistan's certified instructors have been teaching climbing in Hunza since the club's founding in 1974. This course is designed for complete beginners to intermediate climbers who want to develop technical skills on real mountain rock. You'll learn basic knots and belay technique on Day 1, progress to leading on bolted sport routes by Day 4, and tackle a multi-pitch adventure climb on Day 6 β all within sight of the Karakoram's greatest peaks. Rock climbing in Hunza is not just about the climbing; it is about doing it in one of the most beautiful mountain environments on Earth.

Sport Climbing β First Routes (5aβ5c)
First day on the main sport climbing crag. Top-rope on bolted routes. Footwork, body position, movement efficiency.
Lead Climbing Introduction
Learning to clip bolts as leader. Falling practice. First successful lead on a 5b route.
Intermediate Routes & Crack Climbing
Progress to 5dβ6a. Introduction to hand jamming and crack climbing technique on Hunza's famous granitic cracks.
Multi-Pitch Adventure Climb
Full day multi-pitch route β 3 pitches, 120m on clean mountain granite. Rappelling descent. The day every student looks forward to.
Certificate Day & Return
Morning: consolidation on favourite routes. Certificate presentation. Drive or fly to Islamabad.
What grade will I be able to climb after the course?
Complete beginners typically progress to leading 5bβ5c sport routes after 7 days. Those with some prior experience can reach 6a. The multi-pitch adventure climb on Day 6 is accessible to all course participants regardless of starting level.
Can I extend to more advanced technical climbing?
Yes β we offer a 5-day advanced extension covering traditional (trad) climbing, ice climbing, and introduction to alpine routes. Contact us for the combined 12-day course.
