This is the most accessible high-altitude meadow experience in Pakistan, reachable from Islamabad in just 5 hours and walkable by anyone with reasonable fitness. The trek starts at Shogran (2,362m), a pretty resort town of wooden chalets in the Kaghan Valley, and ascends through fragrant pine forests to emerge onto the extraordinary open meadows of Siri Paye. The views of Makra Peak, Musa Ka Musalla, and the surrounding peaks are breathtaking.

June and July are magical — wildflowers are at peak bloom. August is also good but occasionally rainy. Avoid October–May when Shogran can receive heavy snowfall.
