Diran Peak (7,257m) in the Nagar District of Hunza is widely considered one of the best introductory 7,000m expedition peaks in Pakistan. It offers a relatively straightforward approach from the beautiful Minapin Valley, a non-technical standard route (for alpinism standards), and extraordinary views that include the west face of Rakaposhi (7,788m) and the full Karakoram panorama. Unlike the ultra-committing Karakoram 8,000m peaks, Diran is achievable for experienced high-altitude climbers stepping up from 6,000m peaks. Multiple acclimatization rotations: BC to Camp 1 (5,200m), Camp 1 to Camp 2 (6,100m), returning to BC between each rotation. Standard acclimatization protocol.
Summit Push β Camp 2 to Summit (Days 16β22)
Weather-dependent summit push from Camp 2. The summit ridge of Diran offers extraordinary views of Rakaposhi, Haramosh, and the entire Karakoram. Return to base camp.
Descent and Return (Days 23β35)
Breakdown of base camp. Trek back to Minapin. Drive to Islamabad. Celebration dinner. Depart.
