Fairy Meadows is one of Pakistan's most beloved and accessible high-altitude destinations. This lush alpine meadow at 3,300m offers some of the most photogenic views of any 8,000m peak in the world — Nanga Parbat's enormous Raikot Face (north face) towers over 4,800m directly above the green meadow. After the thrilling jeep ride up one of the world's most vertiginous dirt roads to Tato Village, a gentle 2–3 hour forest walk brings you to the meadow. From here, a rewarding day hike leads through birch forests and alpine terrain to Nanga Parbat Base Camp (Raikot Face, 3,967m) — a manageable but memorable high-altitude experience accessible to most trekkers.
